We will gladly review all essays related to public affairs. Our criteria are only that submissions contain proper citations with respect to sources, references, and data, be free of blatant fallacies of logic, and be limited to 1-7 pages single spaced. Graphics and charts will be welcome when appropriate. We understand submission styles to fall into two categories: essays and opinion pieces. The former are longer and should privilege empirical foundations and logical reasoning to support their arguments, while the latter may take more liberties in advancing claims through style and polemics, though in both cases fallacies and ad hominem attacks will be viewed unfavorably. Personal reflections on relevant work and life experiences, non-fictional narratives, film, art, and book reviews will also be considered, in so far as they are in keeping with the general mission of deepening and expanding ideas of public concern.
