Database Changes: BIOSIS, Zoological Record, and Medline

All,
Some of the databases you use most will have a new look in 2007. We now subscribe to BIOSIS, Zoological Record, and Medline, via the ISI Web of Knowledge, the same interface you use for Web of Science/Science Citation Index. This is a convenient new way to search the journal literature in the life sciences; it is now possible to search multiple databases using the new CrossSearch feature.

We no longer subscribe to these databases via SilverPlatter/WebSPIRS. The web addresses for Zoological Record, BIOSIS, and Medline have been changed on the Library’s Articles and Database Web Page.

Here are the new URLs:

Web of Science / Science Citation Index (1900-)
http://isiknowledge.com/wos

BIOSIS Previews / Biological Abstracts (1926-)
http://isiknowledge.com/biosis

Zoological Record (1864-)
http://isiknowledge.com/zoorec

Medline (Same data as PubMed, more advanced search features) (1950-)
http://isiknowledge.com/medline

CrossSearch (Allows you to search all of these and more simultaneously)
http://isiknowledge.com/xs

TUTORIALS If you are not familiar with the Web of Knowledge interface, browse their recorded training sessions at http://scientific.thomson.com/support/recordedtraining/
