Employers sought for engineering internships
Science & Technology Job Fair: For those employers seeking to hire graduating seniors and graduate students, as well as undergraduate summer interns, the School of Engineering and Applied Science and the Office of Career Services is sponsoring the annual Science and Technology Job Fair on October 12, 2007. The Science and Technology Job Fair offers small and large employers an opportunity to meet Princeton University undergraduates, graduate students, and faculty members to inform them of career opportunities for individuals receiving degrees in the natural and applied sciences and engineering. The Center for Innovation in Engineering Education is actively building relationships with employers in engineering fields to place students into summer internships that are highly beneficial to both the students and employers.
“Princeton engineering students are smart, motivated and capable of performing valuable work over the course of a summer,” said Robert Monsour, the center’s associate director for external affairs. “And they come away from internships with a sharper understanding of their field and a new outlook on their studies. These are truly win-win relationships.”
Princeton formed the Center for Innovation in Engineering Education in 2005 to prepare all Princeton students - engineers and non-engineers - to be leaders in an increasingly complex, technology-driven society. Among other initiatives, the center is improving students' technical education by exposing them to real engineering projects throughout their four years and by fostering internships, entrepreneurial opportunities and multidisciplinary courses.
