Google SketchUp and History

I recently found this arti­cle about using Google SketchUp (free) in con­junc­tion with a high school his­tory class in Ver­mont. Stu­dents are learn­ing local his­tory by build­ing 3D mod­els of build­ings in  their com­mu­nity using SketchUp. Since they are get­ting their hands dirty and inter­act­ing and cre­at­ing objects, this is help­ing the stu­dents retain the knowl­edge and get­ting involved with the sub­ject.
