A dose of perspective

While you should approach your internship search activities with the same diligence and intensity as you approach your coursework, your choice of a particular internship opportunity does not limit or narrow your future career decisions. Internship experiences are most often a win-win situation for both the student and the employer and should be viewed as a learning experience that can help guide your future decisions.

The value in a summer internship comes not only from the nature of the work itself, but also in the experiences you'll have working with others. You may find that you will ultimately choose a different career path after having an internship experience, but the skills you develop in working with others will serve you well.
