Requriements and Schedule for Student Participation

Requirements for student participation:

  • Rising senior in a SEAS department
  • Completed application (cover letter and resume) submitted through TigerTracks
  • Sign up for interviews for companies as selected by the companies
  • Provide prompt replies to the Center and the company during the selection and interview processes
  • Submit a written report to the Center upon completion of the internship
  • Participate in a panel during senior year to share your experience with students

Schedule & Deadlines:

  • November 5, 2007 to January 11, 2008: Companies define their Preparing to Lead internship opporunities
  • December 11, 2007, 6:00pm, EQuad Cafe (Pizza): Info Session -- Last year's students describe their experiences
  • December 11 through January 11: Internship opportunities will be posted on Tiger Tracks during this period
  • February 13: REVISED Deadline for students to apply for Preparing to Lead internships
  • February 15: Student applications are forwarded to the company for consideration
  • February 20: Deadline for companies to notify the Center, indicating which applicants they wish to interview; Companies must also provide a detailed interview schedule at this time
  • February 22: Selected students may begin to sign up for interviews
  • February 25 to March 14: Interview period
  • March 14: Deadline for companies to notify students of result of the interview process

Ruth Fombrun working at Sealed Air CorporationStudent applicants for the Preparing to Lead internships are required to submit a resume and a cover letter. The cover letter is addressed to the participating executive at the company. While the Center facilitates the application and interviewing processes, the company is expected to make all decisions regarding the selection of candidates for interviews, hiring, and compensation.
