Shuttle
The university runs free shuttle lines connecting the Lawrence Apartments with various locations around campus, including the academic buildings, other graduate housing complexes, and some local shopping areas. Many residents use these shuttles to commute to and from their departments. The exact shuttle lines and schedules vary based on the time of year. For the latest information, consult the TigerTransit website.
The shuttle is a collaborative effort of the university transportation office and the Graduate Student Government. If you experience any issues with shuttle service, have suggestions for improvement, or want to help ensure continued shuttle service, email the GSG.
Location
The Lawrence Apartments are located just off Alexander Road.
From US Route 1, get off at Alexander Road (west). West means going left at the light from northbound 1 or taking the first exit for Alexander Road from southbound 1.
Heading west towards Princeton (not Princeton Junction), Alexander Road quickly becomes narrowe and somewhat winding. After two bends, you will go over two small bridges crossing the canals. The second bridge is red and brown, and somewhat larger than the first (white) one.
The first two left turns after the bridges are the two entrances to the Lawrence Apartments: West Drive and Lawrence Drive. West Drive is the first left right after the bridges, and the apartments will be on the right (look for a 12-floor high-rise).
Lawrence Drive is the left turn at the first traffic light after the bridges. The turning lane here makes this route easier then West Drive in heavy traffic.
For directions within Princeton University, visit the official Princeton campus map website. The Lawrence Apartments lie at the lower left (southwest) of that map. Walking to campus takes about 15 minutes.

Bike Maps
From the Lawrence Apartments many places are accessible via bicycle or walking. Below are some common destinations and routes. The routes are provided "as-is" and you use them at your own risk. In particular, some routes require riding in traffic, and after dark your bike should have a headlight, taillight, and reflectors. Also, please wear a helmet--your head is what got you in to graduate school, not your fashion sense!

- Wegmans, Target, etc. This route goes on the canal path, but involves some biking in traffic. You might prefer to walk your bike on the sidewalks before turning to Nassau Park Blvd.
- Shortcut to the GC
- Whole Foods, Staples, Marshalls, & more starting off on the tow-path, crossing the bridge at the golf course, and biking a block on back streets.
- The Institute Woods, behind the neighboring Institute for Advanced Study, is great for running, walking, and bird-watching.
- The Princeton Shopping Center is accessible from campus via various routes.
