I am a mountain climber.

This foreign activities column is turning into "Ben does things for which he is entirely unprepared." This weekend I climbed a mountain for the first time. It was Jirisan, second-tallest mountain on the Korean Peninsula, 6,200 feet, not exactly impressive, I'll admit, but it still made me sore in ways I never imagined. The sunrise, and watching the clouds drift between peaks, was beautiful, though. Just incredible. Pictures forthcoming.

Next up is the Epicurean Club, sampling subtle dishes from internationally famous chefs. Another thing I am totally unprepared for, but at least one that requires fewer hours of trudging.

Ben, your job absitively posolutely rules.

By the way, do you still use your toonzone email address? That's the only one I have.

That happened to me earlier this year at Soraksan. I’d been to the touristy side in 2002 and climbed up to the balancing rock and Buddhist temple with no problem. This year I went up the real mountain from the Osaek side. I should have known when I saw no children or elderly, and the guy at the gate asked if I’d be coming out the same day, or staying the night. I was not ready, it about killed me… but it was worth it.

Sounds like your job is really really interesting.. I admit I am envious. Coincidentally, I start the path towards a journalism degree next monday. Big change of plans for me I guess. Also I noticed the thoughtfarm.org domain name is expired and pending deletion or renewal. Should we renew? Let me know what you think, Benjuman.
