Why won't the Daily Show's audience shut the hell up?
Watching Bill Bennett on the Daily Show and a big pet peeve of mine watching this show is coming back again. Granted I don't agree with Bennett on a lot of things. But I would love it if Jon Stewart's audience, regardless of who is talking, would just shut up for two seconds and let them talk. Whenever Jon throws out one of his great provocative common-sense statements, what I want to hear is the guest's response to that statement, not a bunch of New Yorkers shrieking and clapping for fifteen seconds. People more interested in cheerleading than debate, no matter what side they're on, seriously bug me.

I felt the same way watching that interview. No matter what the person's view is, I think it's at least common courtesy to let a person argue their point from start to finish.
While I was in a waiting room at Big O Tires (BIG O!) for a tire rotation, I watched a segment on Fox News called "Your World w/ Cavuto," and the guy was interviewing Robert Kennedy Jr. about his view that the Ohio part of the 2004 election was stolen in a more literal sense. The entire time Cavuto was interrupting him whenever he was getting to his point. I was shocked at how disrespectful these people can be to their guests. I guess this isn't exactly the same thing as an audience that won't shut up, but I think it's in the same ballpark.
Yeah, anyway.. we need to plan a get-together for early July with Augusto. I'll bother you about that again soon.

Well, that's why I watch the Daily Show and not Fox News -- on the Daily Show the audience is annoying, on Fox News everything is annoying.
