A shirt with this thing Ben said one time on it

Everyone should buy this shirt with this thing Ben said one time on it.

Also I am a copy editor at the business desk now. Moving up (sideways?) in the world. At least I have more leg room under my desk now.

And it turned out I had mononucleosis and a strep infection at the same time. What an overachiever I am, huh?

Also this is super-funny if you speak Japanese -- Shoko Nakagawa teaches Otakugaku.

The significance of the North Korean nuclear test depends on China's reaction, and to a lesser extent Russia's. If China cuts off trade and/or aid it will mean major consequences for the regime. If not, this is just another insane thing to add to Kim Jong-il's pedigree of crazy, and we go back to stalemate. The second scenario seems distinctly more likely to me, and probably more in my personal interests vis-a-vis physical safety.

Finally, it looks like I'm skipping the Tokyo Int'l Film Fest this time, since one of the two films I wanted to see (Paprika) is going to be at Pusan this weekend and I'm going to Tokyo next month to meet the brother anyway. I'll just have to suck it up and see Tekkon Kinkreet later.

That T-shirt is seriously true.
Sigh. No more movie reviews. How will I know which ones to go to and which to rent and which to wait until they come to cable.
Will the business desk send you off for adventures like your Style desk did? Wait. Your life is an adventure. I forgot!

Hi Ben. I just read a few articles about North Korea's test. It's interesting.. if China cuts off trade and aid, then they'll face the wrath of Kim Jong-il. If China continues to provide aid.. then everyone's dandy. What do you think might happen next?

After reading more, Northeast Asia resembles a family with a black sheep that no one really knows how to deal with. The family is unable to let the black sheep suffer, yet always manages to be disappointed somehow because of lack of cooperation from the black sheep. Now the black sheep feels it needs protection? This family has trust issues.

That's an apt metaphor. So that makes South Korea the non-insane brother, China and Russia the indulgent but concerned parents, Japan and America the rich, meddling uncles? :P

That makes sense!

I'm creating a political illustration for this issue in one of my classes. So thanks for the input! It helps put into perspective the types of personalities I need to depict.. if those personalities are accurate, which I believe they are.

My plan is to depict a dysfunctional family dinner..
We'll see how it goes! =)

Good luck! That seems like a lot to get across in one frame, but I'm not a super-brilliant art dude. By the way, I AM IN LOVE WITH SHOKO NAKAGAWA: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cJxBxbV_yH0

She's smart, an artist, an anime fan, and really nice-- THE PERFECT WOMAN.

Wow, yeah! I just read some things about her. She's very cool and at such a young age, too! She seems like someone who sticks to what she likes. That's admirable.

I must also admit she's adorable. Thanks youtube!
