School Pictures
The Two brown buildings are the school. The middle apartment building behind the school is where I live.
Kwangju City
Wendy and I get set to eat our first home-cooked meal. If you are keeping score at home, that's Do-Miao, Tofu+ pork stir-fry and dumplings.
Here are some pictures we took from our first field-trip to the Ginseng Festival:
As we spill off the bus
Mr. Lynn, the social studies teacher, tries to make this trip educational. Moments later, one of the students takes out a vehicle window with a rock.
Some of the kindergarten kids try their hand at harvesting Ginseng.
Clearly the breakdancing in college was not wasted.
Mark, Grade 12, is a ladies man
Chris, Hei-In, Yu Yuen, On Su (Grade 10) and Ginseng Man
Wendy and her 5th graders.
Our bus driver. The outfit is all linen. The shoes are some kind of animal skin. Feel free to use your imagination.
The art teacher took me out to her Buddhist monastery with her son. Afterwards we went to the national tea fields.
And finally, my office, my classroom, my second home.

Ok - you need to become the official tourism site for Kwangju. Gorgeous pictures. Hope it is all going well there - I can't wait to hear all the stories!

Dude. Crazy. I wish I got the chance to get out of Seoul more often and see that kind of stuff. Rassin-frassin working Sundays. I need to come down to Gwangju and see you guys. And you need to get your butts up here too. We can drink crappy beer at Dongdaemun at 3 a.m. and watch Japanese tourists singing karaoke on giant stages outside department stores lit up like the middle of the day. Fun stuff.
