Copy of heart.jpgWhile Candice Chow’s mind is currently being expanded at Princeton University in New Jersey, her heart remains on the West Coast in her “hometown” of Los Angeles, California. She was born in California, but moved to Hong Kong for four years before returning back home to the beaches, beautiful weather, and (of course, the happiest place on earth!) Disneyland. Hong Kong is where her love of traveling began, as she traveled the Eastern hemisphere with her family. At Princeton, she is currently the Mathey College Council Chair, a part of several organizations such as Princeton Faith and Action and Intramural sports, and is the diligent coordinator of fun and exciting events and trips for her group of friends (i.e. Mathey Courtyard Extreme Volleyball). Academically, Candice is hoping to find the perfect major (although English is looking mighty appealing) and to pick up a few languages along the way (for the moment, it’s Chinese).

Candice’s dream job would be like what Sargent did, but with a modern twist—traveling the world as a photographer for National Geographic. She is a romantic at heart, and tied with her love of traveling, this is probably why Sargent’s works in Venice were so appealing to her. The beauty of Sargent’s works in Venice, both his oil paintings and watercolors, caught her eye, and she figured that she wouldn’t mind staring dreamily at these works for a final project. Having visited Venice as a child, Candice hopes to travel there once again and try to see Venice from Sargent’s point of view. Besides traveling, Candice loves many other things: suitcases.bmpcreativity and hilarity in all its forms, food, surfing, golfing, music, art, films, Polaroid pictures, nature, and her family (especially her baby sister, Charlotte) and friends, just to name a few. She appreciates the little things in life, and has greatly enjoyed learning about the Impressionistic painters that have tried to capture these things.
