Get excited! JGAP’s annual Hanukkah party is this upcoming Monday night! We’ll be eating latkes, lighting the menorah, and comparing Thanksgivukkah stories from 7:00-9:00pm. The party will be at Rebecca’s apartment near Nassau Street in Princeton. JGAP will be providing latkes, sufganiyot (doughnuts!), and the fixings. It’s going to be delicious. We would really appreciate if you could bring along an appetizer, salad, side, or drinks so that we don’t run out of food! As always, feel free to bring family, friends and colleagues.

PLEASE RSVP to jgap@princeton.edu if you can make it! We need to know how many latkes to make, and what you’ll be able to contribute, if anything. See you soon!

JGAPaoke & Sangria Happy Hour! (PASSED)

When: PASSED (Wednesday, November 20, 2013 from 8:00pm – 12:00am)
Where: Despaña Tapas Bar and Ivy Inn on Nassau Street in Princeton, NJ

sangria

Wednesday night JGAP is going to Despaña Tapas Café for sangrias and then stumbling across the street to the Ivy Inn for JGAPaoke. We’ll be hanging out at Despaña, attempting to pronounce various difficult words in languages which aren’t English, but maybe are Spanish, and learning about how some people in Spain pronounce “zorro” as “thorro” with a rolled R and everything from 8 – 10pm. You can show up whenever, but be there before 9pm to guarantee a free drink. At about 10pm, we’ll head over to the venerable Ivy Inn where local Princetonians go every Wednesday to sing their favorite songs from Rocky Horror Picture Show and Neil Diamond hits related to the Red Sox.

In short, this will be a very good time, and the relevant details are:

8:00 – 10:00pm at Despaña for sangrias (come before 9pm if you want free drinks!)

10:00pm – late at Ivy Inn for Karaoke (singing is optional, but a judge-y attitude will not win friends at the Ivy.)
