Shabbat DinnerCelebrate the start of fall and fall break with JGAP! Since this will be the Friday before Princeton‘s fall break, most undergrads won’t be around, so we can have the small dining room to ourselves. Reform and conservative services start at 6:30pm. Orthodox service times are listed on the Yavneh site.

Dinner is free for graduate students, and discounted to only $10 for young professionals.

Please RSVP to Arielle Greenwald at arielleg@princeton.edu if you’d like to come!

Potluck Shabbat at Jean’s (PASSED)

When: PASSED (Friday, December 28, 2013 from 6:30 – 10:30pm)
Where: Jean Dietz’s house (email jgap@princeton.edu for address)

Yet another successful JGAP potluck Shabbat dinner! Thanks to Jean for hosting; everyone had a great time. About ten people were there, all young professionals from the area (since Princeton graduate students were on winter break). We met a few new people, and several of our regulars were also able to make it. Remember – always feel free to attend any of our events, and bring family and friends with you!

We held reform services followed by a delicious milchig meal of vegetarian lasagna. Attendees contributed kosher desserts, wine, and kasha, and Sloane’s homemade challah was a huge hit, as usual. We look forward to hosting our next JGAP Shabbat dinner, and more information on that will appear here as it becomes available. Shabbat Shalom, JGAP!

Toda rabah v’Shabbat Shalom! Once again, we had an amazing Shabbat with all of you who were able to attend! We had conservative Kabbalat Shabbat and Ma’ariv services start at 6:45pm, and had a few of you request your favorite tunes for different psalms. Thanks! Once again – our services are casual, and we are happy to incorporate any traditions or tunes our guests request. We provide Hebrew transliterations, siddurim, and extra kippot (yamulkas).

Dinner was served at 7:45pm. This week, we had a kosher fleischig (meat) Shabbat, and served glatt kosher hamburgers, black bean burgers, and veggie burgers, along with delicious veggie kebabs and our usual kosher challah and wine. Our guests brought salad, hummus and other dips, veggies, pareve cookies and banana bread for dessert, and more wine than we could drink. Yum! Shabbat was a total blast, and we already can’t wait for next time. We hope to have our next JGAP Shabbat during the semester on a break week for Princeton University, when the Princeton CJL does not normally have services. We look forward to next time, and thanks to those who were able to make it!

Dinner was served at 8:00pm. This week, Sara & Ezra served delicious vegetarian lasagna, a dairy-free pasta option, challah, and drinks. Our guests brought salad, dessert, fruit, and wine. Delicious!

We look forward to our next Shabbat, which will be towards the end of the summer at Shilpa & Sloane’s house, again. See the BBQ Shabbat Event Post for more details.
