Benjamin Taylor Collection of Philip Roth Materials (C1609)
Consists of a group of writings and speeches, biographical materials, correspondence, photographs, and medical records of American author Philip Roth (1933-2018) collected by his close friend and literary collaborator Benjamin Taylor (1952- ).
Consists of selected manuscript and typescript drafts, notebooks, and notes, of 20th-century Irish author Brendan Behan (1923-1964), as well as some correspondence and ephemera. The papers constitute the principal archives of the manuscripts of Behan’s writings.
Ribeiro de Avellar Family Plantation Records (C1605)
Consists of plantation records of the Ribeiro de Avellar family documenting the accounts and operations of their sugar and coffee plantation Pau Grande in the parish of Paty do Alferes, Brazil. Materials include extracts from account books spanning from 1797 to 1810 and correspondence and receipts from the 1830s through the 1850s.
Robert Sewall Browne Letters on Prospecting (C1606)
Consists of letters from Robert Sewall Browne (1866-1904) to his wife Alice E. Gray Browne in Maine, detailing his overland travels and work as a prospector, miner, and rancher in Colorado, Wyoming, and the Yukon Territory from 1896 to 1901.
Scrapbook on Charles Robert Cureton, circa 1837-1849 (C0938 No. 762)
A scrapbook regarding British Army officer Brigadier-General Charles Robert Cureton (1789-1848). Most notably, the volume includes a neat copy of Cureton’s unpublished diary entries documenting his journey to Lahore to escort the commander-in-chief in India, Sir Henry Fane, to the marriage of Maharaja Ranjit Singh’s grandson in 1837.
Sophia, Electress of Hanover, Letter Book and Commonplace Book (C1598)
Consists of a letter book with unpublished letters and a commonplace book likely compiled by or for Sophia, Electress of Hanover (1630-1714), granddaughter of James I of England.
Princeton University Players (PUP) Records (AC474)
Princeton University Players (PUP) was formed in 1986 as the only all student-run musical theatre organization on campus, with six productions each season. The Princeton University Players Records consists of programs and posters from 1986-2012, as well the script from their first production.
Consists of a printed copy of “The Man of Pleasure’s Pocket-Book, or the Bon Vivant”s Vade Mecum, for the Year 1780,” completed in manuscript and used as an account book detailing the personal and household expenses kept by British land agent William Rogers. The account book contains manuscript entries regarding the expenses of Rogers’s customers, including Thomas Pownall (1722-1805), the British colonial administrator who served as Lieutenant Governor of the Province of New Jersey (1755-1757), Governor of the Province of Massachusetts Bay (1757-1760), and a member of British Parliament (1767-1780).

General Manuscripts Miscellaneous Collection (C0140)
Recent additions to this open collection of miscellaneous manuscript materials include correspondence, mostly dating from 1985-1986, between physicist Dan Tsui and his team at Princeton and Ted Moustakas primarily regarding GaAs/AlGaAs; a sharecropping agreement between L. F. Wood of the Mount Hope Plantation in Jefferson County, Mississippi, and fifteen freedmen and freedwomen immediately following the Civil War; a typescript of two chapters from “A Black Artist at Princeton: Conversations with Braveboy Hintzen” by novelist, playwright, poet, and educator Jan Carew (1920-2012); autobiographical notes by Jorge Luís Borges; a typescript of Laure Guille-Bataillon’s French translation of Julio Cortázar’s “Axolotl;” and an 1857 letter from William Henry Channing (1810-1884) regarding his anti-slavery position.
M. L. Parrish Collection of Victorian Novelists (C0171)
Recent additions to this open collection of correspondence, manuscripts, and artwork include two letters from Charles Kingsley (1819-1875), including one to Thomas George Bonney that includes a photograph of Kingsley and his wife and one addressed to “My dear John,” as well as a letter from William Holman Hunt (1827-1910) to his godson Holman.
A recent addition to the papers of American photographer, environmental activist, and teacher Marc Gaede include audiocassettes containing source material for the epilogue of Borderlands, and recordings of interviews and public talks given by fellow photographers and associates of Gaede.
Additional oral histories have been added to this project focused on LGBTQIA alumni and current and former LGBTQIA staff and faculty to learn about their lives, particularly their experiences being LGBTQIA (out and not out) at Princeton, and their perceptions of the climate for LGBTQIA people at Princeton at different points in time.
Recent additions include additional copies of his books, international editorial correspondence, articles and speeches, fan mail, videos, and correspondence with other authors.

Albert Bensoussan Working Files on Latin American Writers (C1561)
Albert Bensoussan is a writer, translator, and professor emeritus of Spanish literature at the University of Haute-Bretagne in Rennes, France. This collection consists of correspondence to Bensoussan from various Latin American authors whose works he has translated. Also included are writings from Bensoussan and others, interview transcripts, typescripts, and collected articles and essays about Latin American authors. The finding aid was updated as part of the incorporation of additional files.
Charles F. W. McClure Papers (C0488)
Charles F. W. McClure (Princeton Class of 1888) was a professor in the Princeton University Department of Biology. His papers consist of letters from numerous biologists and anatomists. Also included are some of McClure’s writings, research and teaching files, diaries, and photographs. Description was enhanced during re-processing.
Charles W. Millard Correspondence (C1504)
Consists of select correspondence, dating from 1946 to 2011, of art historian Charles W. Millard (1932-2017) with artists such as Sir Anthony Caro, Helen Frankenthaler, Carl Chiarenza, Mark Hewitt, Nick George, Jules Olitski, and others. The finding aid was updated as part of the incorporation of additional correspondence.
Grace L. J. McClure Papers (C0489)
Consists of the selected writings and correspondence of American educator and writer, Grace Latimer Jones McClure. Materials primarily relate to her unpublished book, A Clippership Honeymoon, which centers around the diaries of Malvina “Mallie” McClure, the wife of a mid-19th century New England sea captain. The collection, which only had a partial inventory, was fully processed and the finding aid updated in kind.
New Jersey Miscellaneous Collection (C1351)
Consists of a collection of miscellaneous legal and financial documents, correspondence, and other manuscript materials, assembled from various sources, that relate to New Jersey history or inhabitants of New Jersey from the late 17th century through the mid 20th century. The existing collection-level finding aid was supplemented by a complete folder inventory.

The Robert P. Matthews series contains photographs which were taken by or at the direction of Robert P. Matthews while he was University photographer. A folder inventory was added to the finding aid to provide better access to materials.
Princeton University Library Collection of Theater Miscellaneous Manuscripts (TC097)
Consists of a collection of correspondence of playwrights, authors, actors and actresses, and theater managers, and other manuscript materials relating to American and English theater (1720s-1970s), which were acquired by the Library from various sources as single items or small file groups. A folder inventory was added to the finding aid to provide better name access to materials created by Truman Capote, Robert Penn Warren, George Bernard Shaw, Oscar Wilde, John Wilkes Booth, and Ronald Reagan, among others.
Consists of papers of Mansel V. Boyle (1877-1945), a popular vaudeville performer best known by the stage name Vardaman. Active on the vaudeville circuit from 1901 through 1925, Vardaman was billed as a female impersonator, often appearing on programs as “Vardaman, the Gay Deceiver” or “Vardaman, the Auburn-haired Beauty.” Description was enhanced throughout the finding aid.
