Border Crossing in Children’s Literature: The Second International Symposium for Children’s Literature

You are cordially invited to register for the Second International Symposium for Children’s Literature & Fourth US-China Symposium for Children’s Literature, hosted by the Cotsen Children’s Library. Themed “Border Crossing in Children’s Literature,” the symposium will facilitate an exchange of ideas on new issues in children’s literature research between scholars from East and West, particularly concerning multicultural, international, and translated children’s literature in any format and genre. Twenty-five papers by children’s literature scholars, writers, and translators from seven countries and regions will be presented on June 14th and 15th, 2018.

Speakers include Cristina Aliagas (storybook apps researcher), Marc Aronson (nonfiction writer), Betsy Bird (children’s book reviewer), Tara McGowan (kamishibai performer), Dana Sheridan (children’s program expert), Deborah Stevenson (children’s book reviewer and youth project leader), Helen Wang (translator), and Frances Weightman (translation scholar).
