In response to the questions, anxieties, rage and tears that arise due to funding confusion and complications, the Amazing Starry Schor has generously agreed to host the following seminar:
Professorship 101: Is there Life after 5th year?: On DCE status, finding
support, and juggling it all
The answer, obviously is yes -there is life after 5th year – but exactly
how to live (and fund) it is not as obvious. This session is
designed especially for third- and fourth-year students, but all are
welcome. We’ll discuss University, departmental and outside fellowships
and strategies for applying for them. The “juggling” part will be
exchanging thoughts on how to write, teach and job-search
at the same time–no mean feat.
