Carlos was such a warm, encouraging, and perceptive presence the one year that I taught at Princeton, 1991-2. He was kind enough to offer to be my partner on a faculty evaluation process, and I felt I was learning from an expert – not just about the content of evaluation but also the gentle method of delivery. And in the design reviews, he was the one that I was most interested in hearing from. What a wise, empathetic architect and gentlemen he was.
