I particularly found the comments by the authors on the appropriateness of Bayesian inference and the limitations of Shannon theory for the ‘big data’ problems intriguing. One hopes we can get around the existing models and develop new ones.

The last part about how the authors think Bayesian inference may be better suited for the current ‘big data’ problem was curious to me. I think IT could rise to the challenge but one has to address the issues the authors raise (e.g., knowledge of source statistics known a priori).
