This fall’s exhibition in the Cotsen gallery will celebrate the start of a new school year at the Hogwarts campus in Princeton and the twentieth anniversary of the publication of the first volume in the Harry Potter series.
Cotsen’s show is not as ambitious as the blockbuster exhibition “Harry Potter: A History of Magic” coming to the New York Historical Society from the British Library, but it will offer a different take on the education of young wizards.. It imagines a curriculum, faculty, and support staff at this satellite campus. You’ll see famous wizards in an entirely new light! Copies of most of the books in the show are available for browsing at the reading nook to the right of the entrance to the curatorial office.
The signature image is not a portrait of the young Albus Dumbledore, but another famous wizard that might be on the history of magic final. The show can be seen between October 1 and was slated to close January 4th 2019. The run has been extended until Friday February 1. .
