I shall never forget your smile and kindness whenever I knocked at your door at Green Hall 3-S-11 (on which was once stuck the sticker ‘I drink Bordeaux and I vote’), the many dinners we had in the Szechuan Restaurant in Plainsborough, your visit to the Chinese University of Hong Kong with Kay in October 2010 when we toughed it out in the earthiest of seafood restaurants among many other things, and our last meeting in March 2020 in Manhattan. Nor your Festschrift in 2007. A big toast to your wit and your generosity. Thank you and Rest in Peace.
