Peter was a wonderful composer and teacher. During my time at Princeton I was extremely fortunate to study with him and to be his teaching assistant. He was an extremely intelligent, kind, generous, and caring person with a wacky sense of humor that he combined with sharp, critical thinking. He was the kind of intellectual composer, which made the Princeton composition school great and renowned around the world. He is greatly missed.
