Where to get additional help with WordPress:

Princeton-specific instructions on some of the tools that will work on this site, including:

  • How to use the WYSIWYG editor and the HTML editor
  • How to make footnotes
  • How to change the image on YOUR page without changing the image for the whole site
  • How to split your page into “chapter-like” sub pages without adding more pages to the site
  • How to add audio and video to your page

Can be found on the blog: Support for Course Blogs at http://blogs.princeton.edu/courseblogsupport.

Princeton has a site license to the video training library, lynda.com

You can use this site for free by going to the lynda.com page, and putting in “princeton.edu” at the web portal option, or going directly to lynda.princeton.edu

Both methods of navigation will take you to a CAS login screen, where you can enter your Princeton netid and password.

Note that you can search the lynda courses and find the thing you’re looking for — you don’t have to sit though hours of the course to get value from their excellent WordPress training. If you select HTML5 or QuickTime custom as a play method under your site preferences, you can even listen to the videos at double-time.

If you get stuck with anything, for example resizing images or using WordPress, the NMC is open most afternoons and evenings during Reading Period. Check their site for the hours during Reading Period. The NMC is in the Lewis Science Library, room 130. After business hours, use the side door.
