I was born in New York, but my family is from Shanghai, so I’ve spent a lot of summers there. The last time I went is 2010 so my information may be ever so slightly out of date, but I will be sharing many pointers for those looking to visit Shanghai, and China in general! Continue reading
[BLOG] Nickelodeon APIA Video
This does not exactly address adopted Asian Americans, but I think this is really worth watching with your kids!
[EVENT] Save the date: Moon Festival 9/22/12
Mark your calendars for SATURDAY, September 22, 2012 for our first annual Moon Festival celebration, in collaboration with Princeton CSA; roughly 1-6PM.
This will be our major fall event! If you were at our Spring Carnival, this will be somewhat similar, but with more student group performances and some other improvements!
[NEWS] Registration for new mentors and mentees
Princeton students interested in becoming a big sib/mentor, sign up here!
As for little sibs, we intend to open up new CAPS registrations once a year, during the summer. So if you would like your children to participate in CAPS for the 2012–2013 academic year, please sign up here by July 31.

[EVENTS] Night Market (4/27) and Communiversity (4/28)
UPDATE 4/29: Communiversity pictures here
This upcoming weekend is very exciting for Princeton!!!
Friday, April 27 is our annual Asian Night Market. all the Asian groups on campus gather together to sell food and do performances. There will be 12 groups with tables/food stands, and I don’t even know how many performers – they will include bhangra dancing, sympoh (break dancing), Triple 8, and Japanese taiko drumming. The headlining act is this half-Taiwanese youtube artist Mree! CSA will have a table as usual. Continue reading

Thanks to all who came out to Carnival yesterday, we all had a lot of fun and we hope the kids did too! Thanks to Sympoh and Triple 8 for performing/teaching 🙂
Photos are now uploaded here, download as you wish!
Thanks again!

[EVENT] CSA Auction: Friday, March 30
CSA Date Auction ~8:30-10:30
This is one of my favorite events, and I have been putting a lot of effort into planning it! A handful of mentors (including myself) will be up for sale! All proceeds go to the American Cancer Society.

[EVENT] Sympoh Urban Arts Crew
Princeton’s breakdancing crew Sympoh is having their annual show! It’s pretty cool to watch, and most of the members are Asian-American.
Please be in contact with your mentors about this. I don’t want to make this another big event like Triple 8, just because we are all so busy at this time with Auction the week before the and the Carnival the week after.
So – contact me about getting tickets, etc. if and only if your mentor is unresponsive and/or can’t buy you tickets but you would like to attend.
They haven’t released full details yet, I will keep you posted! I know there will be performances Thursday, Friday, and Saturday… that’s all they have said so far
[EVENT] Registration for CARNIVAL: Saturday, April 14
Registration for the carnival will be open from now until Thursday, March 29. This deadline is FIRM.

Again, the event will be Saturday, April 14. We don’t have the exact schedule planned out yet but it will be approximately 10AM-4PM. We are planning to have some arts and crafts, some games, workshops (dance, etc.) and then a talent show. Lunch is, of course, included!
Also – and this is important – much to our disappointment, we ran into roadblocks at every single funding venue at Princeton. Somehow, this activity did not neatly fall under any of their jurisdictions. We are working on a couple last resorts right now, but it does look like we will be getting $0 in funding so we will probably have to charge a $20 fee per child. One of the departments said that we can apply again for funding if certain families indicate the $20 fee will be a hardship, so feel free to let us know if you feel the cost will be difficult!
[BLOG] Music: EXO-M
Even though it’s midterms for me right now, this is something I’m really excited about so I thought I would dash off a quick post.
