Eerie Tale

A haunting literary experience may be yours in John Banville's novel, Ghosts, included in a collection of Irish prose given to the University by Leonard L. Milberg '53. Banville visited Princeton this year as part of a symposium celebrating the donation.

Bill Ford '79, right, chatted with Director of Athletics Gary Walters '67, left, and Will Ford '14 at the Friend Center after giving a lecture on changes in the auto industry last February. The University announced this week that Ford, a longtime supporter of Princeton athletics, and his wife, Lisa Vanderzee Ford '82, have endowed the athletics directorship and provided funding for programs to enhance the Princeton student-athlete experience.

Digital Revolution

History buff Sid Lapidus '59 spent many years accumulating an incredible collection of books, pamphlets, and prints relating to the American Revolution. When his class celebrated its 50th Reunion in 2009, he shared the collection with Princeton by donating it to the University Library. Now the library is sharing much of it with the world--all the collection's holdings, including Thomas Paine's essay Common Sense, can be accessed online via the University's Digital Library: http://pudl.princeton.edu/collections/pudl0076

Aspire-ing Connections

The Pursuit of Knowledge

Another generation of Princetonians attends lectures in McCosh 50, the venerable hall that has also reverberated with the words of prominent speakers from Albert Einstein to, most recently, David Simon, creator and producer of the two HBO series The Wire and Tremé. Simon was a Belknap Visitor with the Council of the Humanities this semester.
